An irony if ever I saw one. An ad for Sky Movies telling us that they dont have adverts in their movies (which is a good thing). I do like the idea of an ad free world – well ads in the traditional sense of the word – there are far smarter ways to engage audiences than placing a huge billboard in their path. Seems so dumb don’t you think?… interruption just annoys everyone… we’re all willing to hear what brands have to say, but don’t bludgen us into listening.
Hilarious that this is Sao Paulo's real initiative to clean up the urban space and it attracts ad meisters who then use it ... for an ad http://www.boingboing.net/2007/04/14/sao-paulo-... Regarding your point of non-interruptive ads, maybe the time has come where billboard ads start eating themselves and imitate culture jamming à la BLF http://www.billboardliberation.com
A world without interruptions (aka advertising)
