So Google has finally launched the Mac version, of Google Earth. Despite the fact that I’ve played with it on a PC – its not until now that I’ve really jumped into it.
Its brilliant, utterly brilliant. I’ve flown all the way from Sydney to London, glided down Peckham Rye and checked the tiles on my roof – all intact I’m pleased to say. The above image is an ariel shot of my neighbourhood back in London, looks like a nice day.
If your a Mac user, and you’ve got the latest OS, then go fly!
Hi Ben (howyadoin'?!) I agree, Google Earth is pretty nifty though I'm still running Mac 10.3, so no zooming around the globe for me yet. One criticism though: while it is good for checking those roof tiles, the aerial view is not so good for checking whether the brickwork needs repointing, or if the window frames need a lick of paint. I hope the next upgrade to Google Earth takes into account these factors, as well as possibly internal diagnostics (plumbing, electrics, rising damp, etc), I'm sure the tech-wizards at Google can handle that sort of thing.
Google Earth for Mac > just took me home
