PSP / RCA interpretation project…

PSP RCA 1

Designers from the RCA (London) Industrial Design Engineering and Interaction Design have created a series of ‘sculptural furniture’ that is an interpretation of people playing with the new PSP (playstation portable).

The forms were inspired by observing players of the device at a bbq on a sunny afternoon, the players put jackets over their heads so that the screens could be seen more clearly.

The results are quite something, a kind of Fantastic Four ‘The thing’ character crossed with a rubik’s snake (in an improbable pose).

I first read this on we-make-money-not-art the RCA / PSP project site is here and if you want to know more about Interaction Design at the RCA visit them here.
